I keep reminding myself that success comes from what we do consistently, and more often than not, I’m just not “feeling” up to it. Does this sound familiar to you?
Our brains are wired to keep us within our comfort zones – that usually happens when we start to think too much and we don’t just do the thing we initially wanted to do – we end up making excuses as to why we’re not doing it. Motivation is garbage! If we’re constantly waiting for that feeling of inspiration to hit, we’re never going to get anywhere.
Having big dreams is bullsh*t if you’re not taking any action towards achieving it right now.
We have to create habits and take baby steps towards achieving our goals, and as we take those baby steps, soon we’ll build momentum and before we know it, we’re getting closer to achieving our dreams and that gap that lies between where we are now and where we wanna be starts to get smaller and smaller.
No matter where you are in life right now, take a moment to really think about where you wanna be and focus on the tiniest little micro step that you can take right now toward it. Don’t let your feelings get in the way, don’t allow yourself to make excuses, just take the next step! Your future self will thank you. Not only are you pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you’re taking a step towards growth. Don’t focus too much on the end goal, that can make you feel overwhelmed and so you end up procrastinating… simply enjoy and embrace the journey toward it.
