I nearly fell off my chair when I received an invitation to attend the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town media launch at the Table Bay Hotel, which took place this past Wednesday.
I had no idea what I was going to end up wearing, so I decided to make myself a fringe skirt with some suede I had lying around in my fabric bin. I had initially wanted a floor-length fringe, but I ended up settling with the shorter length.
“I managed to whip up this skirt in one session, and I’m pretty chuffed with how it turned out!”
I wore this ensemble to the #MBFWCT media launch and received quite a few compliments! Even Liesl V from KFM was keen to get her hands on my stuff, which is a HUGE compliment. I will be doing a more detailed post about the event and my experience – which was utterly magical, if I may say so! I will also be posting a vlog about the event, so do keep an eye out for that in the near future! In other news, I have finally decided to start snapchatting. I created an account a while ago but deleted the app from my phone, promising myself I would not get sucked into yet another social account I have to manage, but with that said, I’m finally revealing my username – surprise surprise – “RayleneHarvey”. Feel free to add me, but be warned, I still don’t know what I’m doing and I feel silly when snapping publicly, especially if I’m alone, but hopefully I’ll get used it soon. I’m addicted to watching others’ snaps though. It’s like reality TV, but with people you know, and it’s a great way to see people from the other side of what we usually see… shall we call it, the “final edits”. Snaps are unfiltered, in your face, and just plain awesome.
